Built for Julia Lyon by her husband William Scott de Camp ("Who Was Who In America") around 1882 as a small hotel. The Moose River House was originally only accessible by boat. People were brought to the Inn by Julia's tiny side-wheeler steamboat named "FAWN" which docked at the Moose River House landing. Her steamboat traveled up and down the Moose River at a time when the river also served as a tributary to the historic New York State Erie Canal.

Much of the building's details, including the front porch are original - Victorian in style. Similar to its sister building the "Thendara Town Hall".

 

 

With just one wedding per weekend, you’ll have the exclusive use of the property, gardens and beautiful rooms. Book your date well ahead of time. Now taking reservations for the summer season.

The Farquharson

California king-size bed or converts into two twin beds. French motif, overlooks the "Thendara Lake" and has a private bath.

(Named after Jessie Carmical Farquharson and her daughter Mary, who survived the sinking of the Titanic, April 14, 1912)

(Named after Calab Lyon and Julia Lyon's family after whom the community of "Lyon Falls" was named)

Full/double-size bed, river view, Japanese-Adirondack motif, shared bath.

Name chosen as the first Adirondack housing development designed by world famous Architect and Artist H. Van Buren Magonigle

The Lyon or The Harrison Suites:

Weekdays $135.00 per night Sundays-Thursdays - Double Occupancy (extraordinary continental breakfast). There is a 2 night minimum.
Weekends $155.00 per night Fridays, Saturdays & Holidays (full American breakfast).
July 1, 2009 - September 1, 2009 $155.00 per night. There is a 2 night minimum.
